Located on the grounds of Malesus Park, South Jackson Community Center is a multi-purpose building, with a large general area and kitchen.
The Center is conveniently located on Highway 18 in South Jackson in the Malesus community with easy access for residents in Medon and Pinson as well. Reflecting the heritages of the area, programs and events at the Center bring residents together for recreational sports, games and a few potluck dinners. South Jackson Recreation Center annually hosts the Bluegrass & Crafts Festival and Senior Olympics.

The center is an active community gathering spot that has the following on-going activities and more.
ACTIVITIES – Opportunities are available during Center hours for games such as table tennis, shuffleboard, and cards.
BILLIARDS/DOMINOES – Every morning and on Thursdays, which is referred to as ‘Ladies Day.’

Test your abilities against the Southwest TN District Senior Olympians in table tennis, badminton and shuffleboard or horseshoes. Join us for a day of fun and fellowship.
Thursdays 8:30 AM to NOON

South Jackson Community Center is the hub for the Southwest District Senior Olympics held in April. District winners advance to the Tennessee State Senior Olympics. State winners in even years advance to the National Senior Games. District entry forms are available Feb-Mar. by calling Linda Kauffman at (731) 425-8614.
The Southwest Tennessee District is made up of eight counties: Chester, Decatur, Hardeman, Hardin, Haywood, Henderson, Madison and McNairy. The District Games are held in Jackson and coordinated by the City of Jackson Recreation & Parks Department.Volunteers and sponsors are always needed and welcomed.
